On the Shelves
In the basement of an old house lives a small mouse colony. There is a lot to discover in the shelves of the cellar. The player's task is to build various devices or tools from everyday objects for the little rodents. On the Shelves is a Point and Click Adventure Game aiming for children, which translates simple physical and mechanical relations into a playful context. The game is divided into different sections which are coped by solving puzzles. The riddles consist in each case of a mechanical problem that can be solved by cleverly building machines or linking objects. The game combines the principles of a hidden object image (recognizing, searching and finding) with sequential logic in an interactive space.
On the Shelves was created as a Game Design Bachelor thesis in the sixth semester at the University of the Arts in Zurich. In my work, I focused on the area of serious games and their development.
